![]() ![]() This demands a cultural shift across the entire design phase. Robotized section building requires an integrated, comprehensive approach, which makes it tricky to implement. Many companies within the shipbuilding industry specialize in producing customer-specific and modular solutions, with small series per product. There are several important focus areas within this project: In turn, this will create more jobs for our region. The application of robotization and automation is necessary to improve the competitive position of the Northern Netherlands manufacturing industry on the global playing field. Improving our competitive position in the maritime industry That is why the Shared Facility project combines the strengths of Conoship International, GMB Foundation, FME, and Marstrat, with the knowhow of the shipyards and specialist suppliers in the Northern Netherlands. It is essential to work together across the shipbuilding chain to make this happen and implement the necessary changes. This will provide the sustainable growth required to obtain a leading position at an international level. Automated processes increase quality and shorten turnaround times. Automation and robotization are great tools to realize this. That’s exactly why the Northern maritime sector has a great interest in improving its efficiency. If the sector is not able to adapt, it may lose its position in the global economy. Global developments in the last decade have put a strain on the European shipping industry. and provide a positive contribution to society.įrom component to micro panel to section.give a competitive edge in the industry,.reduce costs for the Northern Netherlands shipbuilding industry,.help to produce ship hulls more efficiently,. ![]() ![]() In this article, we will cover how robotization will: The initial results of the Shared Facility project already show great promise. The aim is to improve efficiency and optimize cooperation throughout the chain. ![]() This production process will be robotized as much as possible and feasible. This Shared Facility will facilitate the robotized production of micro panels. This feasibility study will investigate the technical, organizational, and economic viability of producing micro panels for a group of shipyard in a robotized way in a central ‘Shared Facility’. Conoship International and Marstrat conducted this study into the ambitions of the Northern maritime industry, which has led to a new, exciting opportunity: the feasibility study of a ‘Shared Facility’. Lydnow offers this specialised course at a discounted price in keeping with its goal of imparting hands-on tech learning experiences to a new generation of students in a cost effective manner. In 2019, the Groningen Maritime Board commissioned the ‘Inventory Study Cost Reduction Shipbuilding North Netherlands’, with support from the province of Groningen. This online course is conducted through live interactive sessions with experienced trainers at Lydnow, who are available for any queries even beyond class timings. Students clearing Robotize (along with Robofunda and Robopro)get the opportunity to compete at national and international competitions at leading engineering institutes to test their robotics system design abilities. Students learn data handling, data processing and analysis, and data driven decision making directly through the activities during the course. Students learn to code these behaviours and eventually execute complex tasks like autonomous maze solving. Students are provided with a multipurpose robot that comes assembled and capable of multiple functional behaviours. Students learn to work with a variety of sensors and actuation devices and gather critical knowledge and skill sets while doing it. This course focuses on autonomous robot behaviour programming. Robotize is a specialised advanced level course at Lydnow where students go through intensive training and learn about microcontrollers, communication architecture, autonomous robot behaviour programming and programming control systems. Autonomous robots are on their way to define the future’s supply chain by enabling companies to lower long-term costs, increase productivity, reduce errors and inventory checks, providing access to remote locations, among other benefits. Robotic automation is growing very popular across different sectors as businesses are taking advantage of its benefits. ![]()
